Iconic Game of Thrones quotes

22 of the most Kickass lines from Game of Thrones September 4, 2018 17960 Game of Thrones is known for its violence and dragons, but it wouldn’t have so many Emmys if it didn’t also have great lines about its violence and dragons. Over six seasons, the characters of GoT have shared wisdom about a variety of topics — bullying, running a kingdom, to name a couple — and they’ve frequently done it in the form of pithy dialogue. And on certain occasions, they’ve dropped badass one-liners just because they sounded cool. For your reading pleasure, we’ve assembled 22 of the show’s most iconic quotes — these are the lines we feel sum up the main themes of this beloved series. (And we’ve got some GIFs to match.) 1. “The powerful have always preyed on the powerless. That’s how they became powerful in the first place.” – Tyrion Lannister, season five, episode one 2. “If you ever call me ‘sister’ again, I’ll have you strangled in your sleep.” – Cersei Lannister to Margaery Tyr

25 Christmas Rules

Image
I'm a 40-something American Christian male with two kids in " the sweet spot ," a lovely wife, and a major crush on Christmas. So I don't know much anymore, but I do know what's awesome about this holiday, and what regulations I've placed on myself and my family to ensure we, like the reborn Scrooge, know how to keep Christmas. In no particular order, here are my 25 Christmas Rules: 1. If you don’t like something about Americanized Christmas, like it anyway - YOUR way  (the 'keep the Grinch away' rule) .  So the whole idea for this article started on Black Friday, when I arrived home about 5 p.m. and wrote the following Facebook status: “I always loved Black Friday. But that was before it was called Black Friday, and before stores started opening at midnight, or Thursday evening. What I always loved was simply "day after Thanksgiving shopping at the mall." And with a great open-air mall right across the street from our neighborhood, it&#

Time Management Tips

Write everything down.  And I do mean  everything.  Get a  bullet journal  or the  planner  I mention below, and use it to write down everything that pops into your head that might need to be done. Don't evaluate whether the thing is important or essential or totally skippable. If you think about it, write it down. Writing things down signals your brain to let go of them because they're recorded. It frees you up to think about the stuff that really matters. Use a goal-setting planner.  I have used the same iBloom paper planner for four or five years, as long as they've been publishing it. It's a great planner designed for home and business use, and it tracks goals and progress towards them. I love it. But during Amazon Prime Day last month, I saw a great deal on a  Panda Planner Pro  and bought it on impulse. I'm so glad I did because I love the Panda Planner, too and started using both every day. Basically, I scheduled my day out in my Panda Planner every morning

Powerful  Bible  Verses about Love to Encourage You: 1. ”The LORD God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.’” ―  Genesis 2:18 2. “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?" ―  Ecclesiastes 4:9 3. “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ do

Trusting in God when Money is Tight

Wouldn’t it be nice if having a relationship with God meant never having to worry or stress about money again?  Actually, that’s possible. But not because God fills our bank account with money when we surrender our lives to Him. Like with every aspect of our lives, God wants a relationship with us in which we are dependent on Him, and trusting Him with all that we have. He wants us to keep  Him  as our God, not what we have or what we’d like to have.  1. Realize it's not about the money. I’m convinced that our financial stability depends on how much we trust God rather than on how much we make. It’s really not about the money, how hard you work, and how wisely you’ve invested. Our financial situation is almost  always  about trust.  I used to get a little disillusioned during my college years, thinking  If God, my Father, owns the cattle on a thousand hills  ( Psalm 50:10 )  why is it that I can’t even afford a hamburger?  I’ve learned since then that it isn’t about whet
